Visit Smaland socks
The animal otter (Lutra lutra) and the flower Linnaea borealis is the provincial symbols of Småland in Sweden. In the darkest of forest, she dances above the stones like a fairy in her pink skirt, so tiny and neat.
This cuff-down sock pattern is perfect for scrap yarn knitting.
I used the colors below, which was originally bought from three different suppliers. I hope you like it!
Needles (suggested sizes)
With magic-loop technique, use 80 cm round cable US 1 1/2 (2.5 mm S/M)/US 2 1/2 (3 mm) or the size you need for the gauge. You can also use DPNs. The pattern description is written for DPNs.
Gauge
32 sts and 38 rows is 4” (10 cm) with US 2 1/2 (3 mm)
Yarn
50g à 200 m sock yarn. Arwetta classic, Svarta fåret Frost, Trekking.
Drops nord gives a larger circumference M/L ca 22 cm on needle 3 mm. The sock in picture is knitted with stashed yarn from different suppliers but with the approx. same thickness.

Color A: Steelblue, 50 g or 210 m (Filcolana, Arwetta classic)
Color B: Black, 40 g or 160 m (Filcolana, Arwetta classic)
Color C: Pink, 10 g or 40 m (Svarta fåret, Frost)
Color D: Green, 10 g or 40 m (Filcolana, Arwetta classic)
Color E: Grey, 10 g or 40 m (Svarta fåret, Frost)
Sock size
S/M circumference 20 cm with DPN US 1 1/2 (2,5 mm)
M/L circumference 22 cm with DPN US 2 1/2 (3 mm)
Sock length is variable.
