Vismaya is a light, airy shawl to remind you of summer, spring, blooms, tender leaves and new beginnings.

The shawl is knit bottom-up, beginning with an interesting lacy border of leaves that continue into the body giving you a lovely, delicate, all-over lace shawl. Short rows are used to give the body its crescent shape (pattern includes instructions on how to do them). An icord bindoff is used for a neat and stable edge.

Pattern is both charted and written (as in, the lace charts are written out, too).

Finished measurements - 56” along the top edge, 16” deep down the center back and 6” at the sides.
Guage - 18sts and 20 rows/4” in stockinette stitch. Gauge is not really important for this shawl. But using a different gauge will change your yarn requirement and finished measurements.
Yarn - You will need 400 to 450 yards of fingering weight yarn. Pick soft acrylic, silk, wool or blends that will give you a good drape.

So bring out your favorite sock yarn and get busy - this is a shawl you’ll love wearing as much as you’ll enjoy knitting.
