The Vivi Cardigan has a boxy fit and dropped shoulders. It is knitted seamlessly top-down with a cable pattern on the front, the back and the sleeves.

The cable pattern is charted only, no written row-by-row instructions.

The cardigan is started at the back neck and then increased to the full width of the back. After that stitches are picked up along the sloped shoulders for the fronts. The pieces are joined at the underarm and the body is then knitted in one piece. The sleeve stitches are then picked up from the body and worked in the round. The buttonbands are worked in double knitting.

The length of the body and sleeves are easily modified to suit your own body measurements. I recommend trying the cardigan on every now and then while working on it to make sure you get the perfect length for your style.

For the stitch patterns to show best, I recommend choosing unicolor or slightly tonal colorways. The Vivi cardigan is worked by holding one strand of fingering weight yarn together with a strand of silk mohair but you can also knit it with a single strand of DK weight yarn.

For the ribbing:
