Voyeur Fair Isle
This classy, yet raunchy pattern attempts to “pull one over” on a viewer distracting their eye with classic fair isle motifs hiding the ever hilarious “fornicating reindeer” motif. This pattern features a row of “voyeurs” as well who are enjoying the view. The voyeurs in question come with additional charts should you want just pants wearers or maybe both dress and pant wearers to be watching on. Any way you make it, it’s sure to start some fun conversations and crack a smile on even the biggest Scrooge once they finally “see it.”
You should be at a gauge of 36 stitches to 45 rounds in a 4x4 inch square. The final fabric knitted has a wonderfully dense quality to it that helps keep heads warm on windy winter days. I’d say this is an intermediate design; the most difficult part really is just the counting and managing floats. I find it best to sort of “bricklayer” them so that no two floats lie directly on top of each other which can create a bit of a “valley” pucker at the front of the work, alternatively you could be sending a secret morse code in your floats in which case you can disregard this suggestion.
I used Nature Spun Sport and needed 2 balls for the Main Color and only 1 for the Contrast Color. That measures to about 210-230 yards of MC and approx. 140-160 yards of CC.
Final dimensions of the hat measure about 9.5 inches from bottom to top and 23.5 inches around, there is a fair amount of give to the fabric though despite its tight knit quality so it can fit heads up to 24 inches.
