Planning to come to Munich for this year’s Wiesn? or any Oktoberfest somewhere out there?
There is still time to knit up your own jacket, inspired by the best traditional costume has to offer and designed with details you’ll enjoy:
Pockets ! - cute and functional with contrast lining and picot edging.
A box pleat for width in the back, with contrast lining, a reversible cable down the middle and finished off with a bit of embroidery on top.
Knit bottom up in pieces, then joined for the yoke with cabled raglan sleeve decreases.
7 buttons for closure (all the same or a curated mix of fun or traditional motives, roughly the same size - your choice)
Inside finishing with a ribbon for added reinforcement, or just the foldover edges stitched down - again, your choice!
We used 2 colors of Quince & Co’s Chickadee because it’s soft and springy and sturdy and beautiful. When picking your yarn it should be 100% wool knitting up to 24 st per 10 cm in stockinette.
