Vulture Valley
Vulture Valley is an overlay mosaic crochet pattern hand drawn by me. I have spent a lot of time hiking in the mountain deserts of southern AZ with my kids, so when my eldest moved out I wanted to commemorate all the amazing times we had in the desert wilderness, surrounded by majestic saguaro and the fresh scent of creosote bush.
Anyone from the southwest knows that second to the desert’s tenacity and beauty is its weirdness and mystery, so of course I needed to add an option with a nod to extraterrestrial visitors. You will receive both patterns upon purchase.
This is a larger blanket which is perfect for sharing with a loved one while pondering the desert sky.
The blanket is 200 stitches wide by 249 rows high and measures approximately 50” by 63” (120 cm by 155 cm) in DK weight yarn.
This design is also available as a yarn kit at:

It Includes split charts marked with a darker line every 10 stitches, as well as a nice large one page chart for Knit Companion. It also includes written instructions for both left and right hand crocheters, instructions in Dutch and English, and a handy color guide for the colorway included in the yarn packs (see above).
Note--This pattern starts with the lighter yarn color that you wish to use
This pattern does not teach you how to do mosaic crochet. It does not teach you to switch colors within a row (an understanding of how to switch colors within a row is not necessary to complete this pattern, however a link to a reference video is included should you choose to do so).
