This pattern is for either of a pair of ‘old school’ hot water bottle covers in honeycomb cables. One is in worsted (pink) and the other in a slightly bulkier (gray) wool. If you use very hot water, and a wool cover, the hot water bottle will stay warm for hours --- all night under the bed covers!
This design is knitted in one piece from the bottom up, and has a chart for the honeycomb.
There are detailed instructions for casting on, shaping the shoulders, and binding off.
The rubber hot water bottle is inserted into the cover before filling.
These cozies make wonderful gifts for new babies, old people and everyone in between. I
throw mine on the seat of my ‘82 volvo wagon on chilly mornings. We refer to it as our ‘after market seat warmers!
