Waffle On! Newsboy/Beret
Intermediate: Uses front post stitches for the texture and lots of shaping.
A newsboy or beret pattern that fits teens to adults. It can be made in DK/8ply or light worsted weight yarn as the two weights make only a negligible difference to the finished size of the hat.
It uses a 6mm (J) hook and the gauge is as follows:
Rounds 1 – 5 of the hat pattern measures 14 cm in DK/8 ply and 15cm in worsted weight yarn with a 6mm hook.
I always give the gauge in the round when I’m working on hats because I find that my gauge varies depending on whether I’m working straight or in the round.
This is a comfy hat that fits well and goes with many styles!
It is available in both US and UK/Aus terms, and uses around 200yds/182mts of yarn
This pattern has been tested. :)
