Waffle Shawl
“Waffle Shawl”
The inspiration for this shawl has come from the Outlander series and a shawl worn by Claire Fraser.
It is a DK weight design that’s worked from side to side of the garment, with the pattern as always being written row by row.
I have used a heavy DK yarn on 4mm needles which has allowed the stitches to retain their shape and create the waffle texture to the shawl. There is no blocking of the finished work in order to keep the texture.
The pattern looks more complicated than it is but does require some concentration on the counting of stitches. Any knitter able to do basic stitch work will achieve this design.
