Waffle Textured Poncho
The poncho is knit as a single flat rectangle then folded and stitched closed along the sholder seam to form the neck opening. It’s a fairly complicated knit stitch pattern with a repeating tuck stitch to create the waffle texture.
Your rectangle is knit from the short edge so you can easily adjust the size to your preferred fit.
Sizing:
It’s a one size poncho, that you can adapt to your measurements. Our finished knit rectangle was ~60cm wide and ~150cm long
Materials:
10 x 50g balls cowgirlblues Merino Sock, we used Charcoal
1 x 100g skein cowgirlblues Merino Sock variegated, we used Violet/Tanzanite/Lilac/Iced Berry
1 pair 4mm knitting needles (straight or circular)
Gauge:
Measured in pattern on the purl side, in pattern, 3 “columns” and 14 tuck stitches will give you ~10x10cm

Finishing
To make up the poncho fold it in half lengthwise, placing the two short ends together, with the charcoal edge on top, this will become your shoulder seam and neck opening.
Mark the neck opening leaving a gap of ~20cm from the fold.
Stitch together the rest of the opening.
Finish away your ends and you’re done.
