The vest is knit from bottom upwards in two separate pieces: back and front. Then the parts are sewn together along the sides using mattress stitch. The shoulders are sewn using shoulder seam. Armholes and neckline are framed with 1x1 ribbing.

MATERIALS AND TOOLS:

● Main Color: Fibranatura Papyrus 50g/120m (50g/131 yards), Color No. 229-01 400g (8 skeins), 450g (9 skeins), 500g (10 skeins), 550g (11 skeins) two threads held together.

● Contrast Color: approx.30-50 grams.

Note: you can choose other yarn brands. It can be any chunky yarn that requires 6-7 (US 10-10 ½) needle size. Also, you can use any DK or light worsted weight yarn. You will have to double the thread to gain thread thickness suitable for 6mm (US 10) knitting needle and obtain the indicated gauge.

Alternative yarns: Drops Cotton Merino, Kingcole Finesse Cotton Silk DK, Rowan Super Fine Merino DK, Rowan Baby Merino Silk DK, Rowan Cotton Cashmere.

● Circular needles: 4mm (US 6) recommended 60cm (24 inches) for working the neckband and armbands. Those parts are worked in the round. The ribbing parts of front and back yokes can be worked back and forth with circular needles as well.

● A pair of straight needles 6mm (US 10) or circular needles 6mm (US 10) 60 or 80 cm (24 or 32 inches).

● Tapestry needle
● Stitch holder or about 20 cm of waste yarn (8 inches)
● 4-5 stitch markers
● Measuring tape
● Scissors

GAUGE (TENSION) approximate:

17sts and 24 rows (6 repeats) = 10x10cm (4x4”) in waffle stitch pattern after washing and blocking. The swatch is made with 6 mm (US 10) knitting needles. If your gauge doesn’t match the indicated, try going up or down one needles size. It is important to obtain the indicated gauge so that the ready-made item has correct proportions.
