This pattern is for a waistcoat stitch mini Christmas stocking. If you crochet it all in the waistcoat stitch it is about 5-1/2 inches long.

Another option is to crochet the stocking all in single crochet (USA SC) stitch. This results in a stocking about 6 inches long.

I have also crocheted this stocking using single crochet stitches and then used waistcoat stitches to add a chart image such as a snowflake.
