Waiting for Tulips
Have fun knitting a sweet, stranded hat with a worsted weight yarn. I used Berroco Yarn’s Remix ™ for a non-wool option. Picot edged brim is made with a provisional cast-on which is folded under and then knit together with the body after six rounds. An interesting crown is made with a swirling decrease. The first pattern is an Adult-Medium. Second pattern is Child or Toddler Size. Playing with different weights of yarn, needle sizes and repeats of the chart will provide many possible variations.
I was able to knit one adult and two toddler hats from just two skeins of Berroco Remix yarn!
For the Adult hat, finished measurements 21” circumference, 9” tall, I used 45 grams of the main color and 20 grams of the contrast color.
For the Toddler/small child hat (finished measurements 17” circumference, 7” tall), I used approximately 30g main color and 10g of contrasting color.
You will need to use a provisional cast on to make this hat, and also be familiar with stranded knitting, knitting in the round and reading charts.
