Walcott is a plush brioche mini-scarf that’s almost minimalist—small but warm, it’s perfect for spring (or fall).

This little scarf is shaped with tapered ends, so it’s thicker in the middle and has a good wearability to it. It takes surprisingly little yarn for a brioche knit project, and makes a nice way to practice standard brioche increases.

Materials:

  • 225-275 yards of Malabrigo Yarn Sock; shown in size large in Frank Ochre, Turner, and Playa.
  • 1 24” circular needle in US3-4/3.25-3.5mm, or size needed for gauge (work is flat)
  • tapestry needle

Gauge:
Gauge is 21 sts and 18 rows over 4”/10cm of lightly blocked brioche rib. Please be sure to check your gauge.

Measurements:
As shown, this scarf measures about 54(70)“/1.3(1.8)m long and 7(8.5)”/18(22)cm across the widest point when relaxed. This ribbing is very stretchy and flexible.
