Waldorf Inspired Crochet Comforter
by Sabra Morse
This pattern is
available for free.
This is a simple Waldorf-inspired comforter for a baby, similar to the knit pattern designed by Elaine Simpler. The body is a folded-and tied granny square, and the head is crocheted in place starting with free loops from the very first round of the body square. Similarly, the hat is crocheted in place starting with free loops left in one round of the head.
In truest Waldorf style, there is no face. The sample project is made from 100% wool yarn, with wool roving for stuffing, but the ghosts of hippies past will not haunt the crafter who decides to use acrylic yarn and polyfil stuffing instead.
