Walk Amongst the Pines Cowl
This pattern was the result of Aroha Knits 2019 Initiate Knit Design Challenge (now Fibre Muse Challenge). I was inspired by the mood board created by Frenchie for The Seeker Fibre Muse. The mood board was full of nature, trees, rivers and natural shades such as greens and browns. I started picturing that feeling you get when you’re hiking in nature, with dirt below your feet, trees and clouds above you, and water running next to you. From there I swatched a few stitch patterns but fell in love with the pine tree motif I ended up using for this cowl.
This cowl is inspired by the beautiful pine trees that stay green all year long. No matter the weather, taking a walk amongst the pine trees is an opportunity to connect with nature and to appreciate the unwavering beauty of the world around us. Knit in a bulky and soft yarn, this cowl is great for being outdoors during the cooler months of the year.
This cowl is knit in the round, with a simple lace stitch repeat worked over 8 stitches and 12 rows. The cowl is designed as one size to fit most but instructions are provided to increase or decrease the width to the preferred size for the knitter. Instructions are also provided for knitting this garment flat, if preferred by the knitter.
