Walk in the Park Mitts
I set about to create a mitts pattern while taking a walk one day, hence the name Walk in the Park. The pattern of crossed slip stitches gives these mitts the feel of a walk through the grass or along a drifting path. Instructions are written to create the crossed stitches without the use of a cable needle, making these a great option for an Intermediate knitter who is new to the world of cable knitting. The samples shown in these pictures are the X-Small size worn by a 9 year old, and the pattern is sized X-Small (6 inches around, 6 inches long) to X-Large (8 inches around, 8 inches long) with quite a bit of stretch to fit most hands 8 years and up.
Sizes:
X-Small - 6 inches long, 6 inches around palm, 2.5 inch thumb opening
Small - 6.5 inches long, 6.5 inches around palm, 2.75 inch thumb opening
Medium - 7 inches long, 7 inches around palm, 3 inch thumb opening
Large - 7.5 inches long, 7.5 inches around palm, 3.25 inch thumb opening
