This shawl was designed to reflect the beautiful colors and patterns of a walk in the woods. A lover of symmetry and graphic design, I boiled the organic and infinite natural shapes down into simple repeating patterns that convey mountains, trees, leaves, clouds, and stones. The colors imply bark, sky, petals, moss, and rock.

The construction begins with a 3-stitch garter tab cast-on, and grows into a semicircular half-pi shawl with increase rows between each horizontal stitchwork panel.
