Walking into Spiderwebs Hat
Perfect for costumes for kids or adults or when you just need a stylish spider warmly clutching your cobwebbed head, this slouchy beanie is knit in-the-round from the bottom up with an overall cabled spiderweb pattern. Lying in wait on her web is a large and spooky cabled spider courtesy of Barbara G. Walker’s Charted Knitting Designs: A Third Treasury of Knitting Patterns.
Sizes: Child size 18-21”/46-53cm head circumference (Adult size 21-23”/53-58cm head circumference).
Yardage: 90-125 (130-160) yds./82-115 (119-146)m worsted weight yarn such as Rowan Pure Wool Superwash Worsted or Knit Picks Mighty Stitch.
Gauge: 17 sts and 24 rows = 4 in. in stockinette using a U.S. Sz. 8 (5mm) needle for both sizes.
Tools: cable needle, 2-4 stitch markers, tapestry needle, measuring tape, and scissors.
