Pattern for a Walking Stick (Diapheromera femorata) crocheted blanket / tapestry. This pattern comes with both a graph and written directions.

You will need 6 skeins of white yarn (A), 2 skeins of dark green yarn (B), 2 skeins of light green (C) and 2 skeins of Gray Shadow (D) to complete this project. Assuming a medium weight yarn with a skein size of about 350 yards.

I recommend carrying all 4 colors through the entire pattern to keep it even

I recommend a medium weight (worsted weight) yarn with a J sized hook. The tapestry should come out a little over 4 feet wide (when crocheted with a J hook and medium weight yarn) This pattern can be repeated and sewn together or combined with other patterns (most of my other patterns are also 150 stitches wide) to create a blanket. A border can also increase the size and give the project a more finished look.

This pattern is 150 stitches wide by 113 rows tall

The blanket width should come out around 4 feet wide. I don’t have a picture of the size for reference since I did not crochet an example of this pattern. This pattern can be repeated and sewn together or it can be combined with other patterns that are 150 stitches wide. ---Most of my patterns are 150 stitches wide--- You can also add a border to increase the size of the blanket.

It is all single stitch crochet. In order to make this blanket you will need to know how to carry yarn (there are great youtube videos that can teach you how to do the Tapestry Crochet Technique. I highly recommend trying a small simple pattern to practice carrying yarn before attempting a larger project. Carrying yarn gets more difficult as you add more colors.

Once you have purchased this pattern a text document that like this (below) will automatically download to you. If you have any trouble receiving it message me and I will have it e-mailed to you in no time. This pattern also comes with a Graph!

1.) A-150
2.) A-30, B-20, A-10, B-50
3….

The #’s are for each row
The letters are for different colors. (A = White, B = Dark Green, C = Light Green, D = Gray (shadow)
(so the above pattern would have the first row be 150 stitches of color A. 2nd row would have 30 stitches of color A followed by 20 stitches of color B followed by 10 stitches of color A and so on….)

I make custom patterns as well. If you are interested in a pattern that does not exist message me and we can talk about having one custom designed for you.
