I live in NSW country in Australia, near a town called Wallabadah. It’s a great name and always evokes images of sheep farming and wool fleeces, perfect for a warm and cozy sweater that is practical, hard wearing and stylish.
Wallabadah is a loose fitting, comfy and versatile design, easily worn around the home but smart enough to dress it up for going out. It is a quick knit in Worsted Weight yarn with a simple slip stitch design at the bottom to create an eye catching feature.
The sweater is worked seamlessly and in the round from the top down. Short rows are added to shape the neckline and raglan sleeve increases are used to shape the yoke. The sleeves and body are then separated and worked top to bottom. A simple slip stitch pattern is worked at the bottom of the sweater. The body is then finished off with ribbing. The sleeves are worked by reducing in regular intervals, finishing with a ribbed cuff.
And if you have any left overs, check out the Wallabadah Beanie!
