Walls (circus) shawl features a speckled gradient transition and a unique trapeze shape that’s easy to wear and modern!

As I was finishing up the last draft of this design, one of my favorite rock stars, Tom Petty has passed away suddenly and I chose to dedicate this design to him - hence the name, Walls (Circus) is one my favorite songs with amazing lyrics.

The wrap uses 5 speckled colors that gently blend into one another with some simple eyelet rows to make the transition even smoother.

YARN
This wrap will require 250g (roughly 1160 yards) of fingering weight yarn in 5 colors, which works out to 50g of each color (or 232 yards of each color).

Sample shown in colors starting from the pink edge to brown: Magnolia(A), Mila(B), Grandmother Willow(C), Meet Me at Montauk(D) and Kodiak(E)

Lyrics by Tom Petty

Some days are diamonds
Some days are rocks
Some doors are open
Some roads are blocked
Sundowns are golden
Then fade away
But if I never do nothing
I’ll get you back some day, ‘cause
Chorus:
You got a heart so big
It could crush this town
And I can’t hold out forever
Even walls fall down
All around your island
There’s a barricade
That keeps out the danger
That holds in the pain
Sometimes you’re happy
Sometimes you cry
Half of me is ocean
Half of me is sky, but

Chorus

Some things are over
Some things go on
Part of me you carry
Part of me is gone, but*
