Waltham Shawl
“Waltham”
This DK weight shawl has been created as a “Show Special” for the Waltham Abbey Wool Show, held here in the UK during January.
I wanted to have a piece of work dedicated to the show, giving it its name, and decided to use DK weight to create an easy to wear everyday shawl/scarf.
It has a mix of stitches that change across the shawl as the pattern is worked with the stitches creating the illusion its harder to knit than it actually is.
A beginner that can slip stitches, knit them together, wrap the yarn around the needle and pick up and make left and right increases will enjoy making this, along with the more advanced knitter wanting an easy design.
For the show the dyer has provided yarn to sell with the pattern, if you are wanting to use the yarn I have here, please contact Mermaids Purse Yarns via her website to have the yarn dyed for you.
I hope you enjoy creating this shawl and that the finished result brings much pleasure and joy in its wearing.
