Wanda Nell Cardigan
The Wanda Nell is a top-down, lightweight cardigan that was designed specifically for knitting with sock yarn, preferably hand dyed and hand painted sock yarn. Knitting the WN with sock yarn on a bit larger needles produces a lovely fabric that’ll keep you warm during the spring and summer (think air conditioning!) but won’t be too heavy.
Look in your sock yarn stash--I’ll bet you have some of those 450-yard skeins you can use. This little cardi takes only 2 of those skeins for sizes 2-14 and you’ll dip into a third skein for sizes 16, 18, and 20. The skeins don’t need to match exactly--try working two similar skeins together for some jaunty stripes (like I did with some pretty Claudia Hand Painted Yarn)!
I designed Wanda Nell to honor my Aunt Wanda, who has always been a loving constant in my life. She had just the classic style this cardigan conveys.
Pattern has been tested and tech edited.
