Der Poncho wird vollständig kraus rechts in Reihen hin und her gestrickt. Der Anfang wird mit einem provisorischen Anschlag gestrickt, um Nähte zu vermeiden. Man kann diesen aber problemlos weglassen und die Schulter am Ende per Maschenstich unsichtbar zusammennähen.

Abschnitte mit verkürzten Reihen und Farbstreifen wechseln sich ab. Die Farbstreifen entstehen, indem beide Enden eines Farbverlaufsknäuels abwechselnd verstrickt werden. Natürlich kann aber auch eine Kontrastfarbe verwendet werden. Rechne in dem Fall mit etwa 800 m Grundfarbe (Farbe 1) sowie 550 m Kontrastfarbe (Farbe 2).

Wenn Du mit dem provisorischen Anschlag beginnst, solltest Du zwei Rundstricknadeln der gleichen Stärke haben, oder alternativ eine Rundstricknadel mit möglichst langem Seil. Du benötigst außerdem 11 Maschenmarkierer.

The poncho is worked in rows in garter stitch. The project begins with a provisional cast on, but you can also start with a usual cast on and close the shoulder by sewing the edges together.

Alternating sections of short rows and color stripes make the project interesting to knit. I used a big skein of a gradient yarn and used both ends to create the color stripes. If you prefer to use two skeins (main color and contrasting color), please have ca. 875 yards (800 m) of the main color (color 1) and ca. 600 yards (550 m) of the contrasting color (color 2) available.

If you’re starting with the provisional cast on you need two circular knitting needles of the same size, or just one circular knitting needle with a very long cable. In addition, you need 11 markers.

The pattern consists of a description row by row and some detailed descriptions of the beginning with pictures.
