Wanderer Socks
by Kate Davey
Discontinued.
This digital pattern is no longer available online.
Inspired by the first ever Nerd Girl Yarns retreat and the special colorway dyed for the event, My Internet Friends are Real!, these socks are a companion (or alternative) the Wanderer Shawl. The random spiral cables represent the great distances so many traveled to come together in person for the first time after nearly a decade of cultivating an incredibly close online community.
- YARN: Nerd Girl Yarns Bounce & Stomp (100g, 463yds), colorway My Internet Friends are Real!
- BARRING THAT: Use 100g of fingering weight yarn, 300-450yds depending on how tall you want to make them.
- NEEDLES: US 1 (2.25mm), or size to obtain gauge
- SUGGESTED GAUGE: 8 st x 12 rows stockinette = 1”
Sizes available:
Small: 7” foot circumference, 56 st
Medium: 8” foot circumference, 64 st
Large: 9” foot circumference, 72 st
I’m a two-at-a-time-toe-up sock girl, but if you prefer top-down construction you most certainly could use the charts to achieve a similar effect!
