Wandering Ivy Cowl
Wandering Ivy combines the delicious squishiness of brioche stitches with gentle traveling cables. Featuring two simple cable stitches in the entire pattern, this cowl is a great choice for practicing your brioche. Never done brioche cables before? This is the pattern for you!
The cables travel gently in different directions, forming large Vs and arches (similar to the vs and arches in knit stitches), suggesting twisting, climbing vines of ivy. There are lots of plain rounds (’rest’ rounds) in between each cable round, so you’ll have plenty of time to practice your plain and cabled brioche stitches.
You will need 2 skeins of fingering-weight yarn for this project. Aurora has 400 yds/skein, and this cowl was designed to maximize the yardage for a two-skein project.
Choose a tonal or lightly speckled yarn to let this pattern shine.
This pattern was designed specifically for Spirit Trail Fiberworks Yarn Club, and specifically for Jen’s yarn Aurora. It’s a yummy single-ply fingering-weight yarn that takes color beautifully. She has a gorgeous palette to choose from--be sure to check out her website for all the pretties!
