Wanderlust Cable Blouse
The cable for the standard gauge and Passap version of this sweater is slightly different from the others in this book in that the crosses are all 2X2 rather than 1X2. The chart is also slightly different in design from the others so it is presented on the pattern page rather than at the end of the book. Sleeves are half length, making this a multi-season top.
YARN, GAUGE AND MACHINE: Microtamm from Tamm yarns gets a gauge of 24 stitches/32 rows per 4” at stitch size 8 on the Passap or 9 on the Japanese standard gauge. It can also be achieved at a smaller stitch size on most mid-gauge machines. Sizes up to 42.5 can be made with a single cone of yarn. Larger sizes will require 2 cones. Not all sizes may be knitted on the mid-gauge. There won’t be enough needles for the larger sizes. Instructions for a similar sweater for bulky machines appear on the next page.
Passaps use orange strippers for rib and black for stockinette. Japanese machines change from ribber arm to main sinker plate when changing from ribbing to stockinette.
