There’s just something about seed stitch in a giant yarn that I cannot get enough of - add in an ombre stripe and it’s pure magic! This blanket makes an amazing wow piece for your home or would be so special as a gift. At the end of the pattern we lead you through a macrame fringe tutorial so you can easily add that in if you feel moved to. The blanket is knit in our Wanderlust yarn. This is our bulkiest yarn yet - lofty, luscious and all sorts of yummy in a range of gorgeous handcarded and handspun colors. Each color combination has its own unique set of fiber colors.

Skill Level: Beginner Knitter - you just need to know your knits & purls

Materials: 6-8 skeins Wanderlust or Flower Child yarn

  • You’ll only need 6 skeins if you do not want fringe, 2 skeins in 3 contrasting colors (colors A, B and C)

  • I knit my blanket in Wanderlust yarn colors Peachy Keen (color A), Free to Be (color B) and Greyfitti (color C). These colors work really well together if you’d like to do an ombre effect but of course, you could knit this anyway.

  • If you do want to add fringe, you’ll need an extra skein of colors A and C - the skeins you cast on and cast off with. You’ll use one skein each for the fringe, with some left over. So in my example, 3 skeins of Peachy Keen and 3 skeins of Greyfitti.

Needle Size: size US 36 circular needles - 40” in length

Size: 38” wide x 40” long, excluding fringe - the fringe is approx 6” long

Gauge: 1.25 stitches per inch in seed stitch - gauge not super important for this blanket but be sure to keep your gauge loose!
