Wanna knit socks?
If you always wanted to knit socks but you are not keen on using the magic loop or double pointed needles, this could be the pattern you have been waiting for. This pattern is aimed mainly to you! Knitted flat and NO seaming!
Experienced sock knitters (conventional way) might find this also interesting but not sure if enough to make them want to convert to knit flat and pick to join after (NO SEAMING THOUGH).
These socks are knitted flat - you could use single pointed needles, or circulars or even some longer dpns, but you’ll work back and forth, starting with half of the sock (1/2 leg and ankle).
The heel has a very simple shaping, we’ll continue with the sole and then again, an easy shaping for toes. The construction is different and as my testers mentioned: TRUST THE PROCESS!
The magic happens when coming back to the front of the leg and we’ll join the front of the sock to the back of the sock as we knit.
It’s very important to keep the selvedge/edges crisp and a bit of practice for picking up stitches will help. Instructions are for picking up st through one loop but some testers found it’s looking and feeling better (for their knitting style ) to pick up through both loops. I’m only a message away for any issues!
Sizes offered are S, M, L with foot length adjustable, suggestions for calculations for a better fit are offered too.
Gauge is 32 st/46 rows = 10cm/4in on 2.5mm - you may use a smaller or larger size to get this or the texture you are happy with.
Big thanks are offered to my lovely and patient testers!
If any issues, please do let me know!
