This shawl is versatile and flexible. It can be worn as a traditional shawl, held together with a shawl pin. However, there is a tweek to this old favorite. There are buttons on one side, so the wearer can slip an arm into the shawl; and it is a contemporary update on an old favorite. The shawl is one size fits all, so there is no worry about the fit; and it will be perfect for a teen, young adult or mature woman. When you want to wear it as a shawl, the buttons are hidden on the inside. It is easy to make and easy to wear. It is soft and feminine; and it is perfect for the fall, winter or spring. The look is even more attractive with a lacey leaf motif. Using a bulky wool, the shawl was made with less that 650 yards. The pictures shows the shawl made with Lamb’s Pride Bulky; however, any yarn that achieves 12 sts. to 4 inch gauge can be substituted. The pattern includes pictures and clearly written instructions. The pattern knits up quickly and is perfect and useful for so many occasions. I recently wore my version to the Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Show and was stopped on numerous occasions to compliment the pattern; my daughter, who works in NYC, says she gets more use out of this shawl than any jacket or coat she owns. It is her favorite.
