Thanks for your help in 2017 we donated TWO places at Crisis
In 2018 one place at Crisis.
Warm for the winter is a hat with a story.
I had carved out a little time last December to do some selfish knitting and make myself the Gytha worsted hat I’ve been wanting since I had the base made up. I couldn’t help but work on something new, that used my then current obsession with broken rib and cable love affair. Once finished, I was completely chuffed and put it on straight away. It had its first outing in busy London on the way to a meeting the next day and promptly got lost.
I chased it around for two days but in the end determined it a lost cause and with the members of The Vault group on Facebook we hoped fervently that it was keeping one of London’s homeless warm.
Fast forward to January 2017 and I stole a little time for some selfish knitting again to make a new sample. This time out of a batch of Gytha I wasn’t 100% happy enough to put in the shop. 1 skein went into the hat, 3 skeins went to a friend and when deciding what to do with the last 2 skeins a friend asked if they could use them to knit some hats for the homeless.
Now I’m not selfless and I’m certainly keeping this hat but everything about the process of this hat and it’s story shouts at me that it has to do some good. For that reason, the proceeds for this hat will go to homeless charities in London and the Uk.
So go on, grab the pattern and contribute to helping keep someone else warm for the winter.
