Warmth of the Earth
Impulse buys can turn out quite nice. This really squishy and plump yarn with a gorgeous mixture of colours invoking autumn forests on a frosty morning made me want to make something nice and warm. So I turned it into a cozy little button up cowl with one of my favourite stitches, the beautiful, dramatically textured brioche rib, and it came out really toasty and comforting. Can be worn tucked under the collar of a thick coat, or over a warm sweater.
It also works up really fast (only took a long afternoon to make it) so it’s perfect for a quick present as well.
Yarn: Eylül DK brown mix, (30% wool, 70% acrylic, 300m/100g), about 70 g
Buttons:6 pcs, matching colour, about 12 mm
Needles: 4 mm (5 mm for cast on)
Gauge: 14 ss and 10 rs in 10 cm in brioche stitch
Size: one size, about 40 cm circumference at middle of cowl, 14 cm long from base of neck (start of the ribbed part) to top.
