Warp + Weft
This richly textured blanket combines knits, purls, and strategically placed yarn overs to mimic the appearance of woven fabric at a macro scale. The clever incorporation of fringe—placed on all four sides corresponding to each “woven” strip—furthers the illusion, with a finished piece that appears freshly plucked from a loom. A straightforward and easy-to-work pattern repeat makes this an impactful project that’s perfect for beginners. Worked with two strands of fingering weight held double (creating an Aran weight equivalent) allows for further exploration in combining complementary fiber blends or creating homemade marls for unique finished fabrics.
