A woven raglan! How in tarnation? This basic colorwork sweater mixes dissimilar & one-off skeins of color-changing handspun against a solid backdrop for a not-so-basic result. Watching the faux plain-weave fabric form while the spun colors change makes for a such a fun knit that showcases the beauty of multicolor yarns in a very magic way!
Sizes
All of my patterns are #SizeInclusive through a 62” full chest.
XXS (XS, S, M)L, 1X, 2X{3X, 4X, 5X} to fit full chest measurement of:
24 (28, 32, 36)40, 44, 48{52, 56, 60}“
61 (71, 81.5, 91.5)101.5, 112, 122{132, 142, 152.5} cm
Garment Chest Measurement:
32 (36, 40, 44)48, 52, 56{60, 64, 68}“
81 (91.5, 101.5, 112)122, 132, 142{152.5, 162.5, 172.5} cm
This top is designed with 6-8”/15-20.5cm of positive ease at the upper chest. To measure your upper chest, hold a tape measure around the full circumference of your upper chest directly under your armpits. Add 6-8”/15-20.5cm to this measurement and choose the size that corresponds to the closest garment chest measurement.
Suggested Yarn
MC: Ritual Dyes Elder (100% Rambouillet, 190yds/100g), Obsidian Colorway
CC: Spincycle Dream State (100% SW American wool, 150yds/65g), Written in the Stars, a Spincycle x Ritual Dyes Exclusive Colorway
Note that while both the MC and CC are worsted weight yarns, the solid MC is thicker than the CC. Combining a heavier worsted MC with a lighter worsted CC in a high contrast color combination will create a woven effect most similar to the sample, but I encourage you to experiment with whatever colors and combinations suit your personal taste, including mixing one-off skeins of color-changing or handspun yarn for your CC.
