Warp and Weft Scarf
A fancy garter basketweave scarf with handsome finished edges. Includes stitch chart and line-by-line instructions. Two options for upper and lower border, based on your skill level.

(a.k.a. sewn tubular bind-off for 1x1 Rib)
Dimensions:
7 inches (18 cm) wide x 60-96 inches (165-243 cm) long
(The general rule of thumb is to knit your scarf as long as the recipient is tall for a proportionate fit; when in doubt, knit it a little longer.)
Yarn:
Cascade Heritage Prints
(self-striping fingering weight superwash merino and nylon blend)
(sample knit in colorway #39 Hawks)
up to 2 skeins – 550 to 874 yards (500 to 800 meters), depending on scarf length
This pattern was specifically designed to work well with self-striping sock yarns, but it would look equally wonderful in a solid color.
Needles:
Size 2 US (2.75mm)
(any type for beginner level; 32 inch or longer circular PLUS one additional needle of any type for Magic Loop method, or 2 circs of any length for 2 Circ method)
