This shawl features sideways constructions with slipped stitches and a top edge with a cable and lace details. It is finished with a lace edging along with bottom. This shawl is designed to use one skein of yarn as you can adjust the size of the shawl and the final border easily. It is also a good choice for variegated yarn as the slipped stitches and constantly shifting size should break up pooling.

I used a sport weight yarn because that is what I had, but any weight should do just fine. My shawl used almost exactly an entire skein of Baby Boom. (The color is an overdye with RIT purple.)

Skills required: cabling, lace, basic increases and decreases, slipping stitches, picking up stitches, blocking

The pattern contains charts for the lace and cable border and the final edging. However, chart instructions are also written out but not fully incorporated into the main pattern. The main body pattern is only in writing.

The pattern is a PDF with six pages with three essential the pattern (four if you want the charts and the written chart instructions).
