This hat is being released to coincide with the anniversary of the motto, “Nevertheless, she persisted.” being born February 7, 2017. I designed this to celebrate all the strong, supportive women we call friends! Two mirrored cables, each half of a heart, wind up and around this hat making a squishy, warm gift for yourself or your BFF(s). Worked in a heavy worsted weight wool, like Malabrigo Worsted, makes it a quick knit, and the cables make sure you are never bored along the way.

The Model
My beautiful friend Dr. Andrus agreed to model for this pattern. She is a survivor of a gun-related Domestic Violence incident that miraculously only claimed one eye. She is the epitome of “Nevertheless, she persisted” to me, going on to finish her doctorate degree and mothering her 3 gorgeous girls.
