This shawl was inspired by the trees in the backyard of my childhood home on Warwick Street. A deceptively simple, yet elegant design that requires just one skein of fingering weight yarn.

Row 1 (RS): repeat from * to last 13 sts, k2, yo, ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, yo, k2, ssk, yo, k2.
Row 3: repeat from * to last 14 sts, k2, yo, ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, yo, k2, ssk, k1, yo, k2.
Row 5: repeat from * to last 15 sts, k2, yo, ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, yo, k2, ssk, k2, yo, k2.
Row 7: repeat from * to last 16 sts, k2, yo, ssk, yo, k1, yo, k2tog, yo, k2, ssk, k3, yo, k2.

Errata for V.2 5/27/13:
In the chart, Row 19, column/st 30 should be a k2tog instead of ssk.
Note: Instructions are written for a top-down shawlette. Both charted and written instructions are provided for the lace edging. Options for increasing the size of the shawl also provided.
