Washington's Birthday Mitts
This pattern is available as a

My mother, Doris, a first generation American, was born on George Washington’s Birthday, February 22. Her parents (Thomas & Philomena), Italian immigrants, gave her the middle name Martha. I imagine for George Washington’s wife in honor of George’s “special day”. As a child, I remember my Mom decorating our windows for Presidents Day with the black cardboard silhouettes of George Washington & Abraham Lincoln. It’s in honor of all the years of love that only a dear Mother, Grandmother and now a Great Grandmother can give that I designed these fingerless mitts.
