This vest is knitted bottom up from the hem, with lace ribbing at the hem and collar.
Starting from the lace ribs at the hem of the body in round knitting, the body is knit to the armpit in a reverse stockinette and side’s lace. Separate the front and back body parts, knit each with a back-and-forth knitting to create a curve of the sleeve’s armhole, and then use the German Short Row method for the shoulder shaping. After connecting the shoulders, knit lace ribs at the neckline and pick up the stitches from the sleeve armhole to finish with 1 x 1 ribbing.
This pattern is written for cropped body length. If knitting longer than specified, extra yarn is recommended.

Wataは, 裾と襟元にはレースリブを用い裾から上に向かって編むベストです. 裾のレースリブから輪で始めて, 身頃は裏メリヤス編みで脇下まで編みます. 前後身頃を分け, それぞれ往復編みで袖ぐりのカーブを作りながら, 襟ぐりの傾斜, 肩はGerman Short Rowの方法を使用します. 肩を繋いだら襟元のレースリブを編み, 袖ぐりから目を拾い1×1のリブ編みで仕上げます. このベストは短めの丈でデザインされているため, お好みで丈を伸ばす場合は指定された糸長よりも余分に準備してください.
