Growing up, my family would go camping every summer. Those trips are some of my fondest memories from childhood. The best part of camping was sitting around the campfire in the evenings, spending time with my family. As the sun would set, the evening air would become chilly enough that a light jacket, or a shawl, would be perfect to wear around the campfire.
The colors in the yarn used in the sample brought to mind all of the times watching the campfire during those camping trips growing up. Quickly, the image of a lace panel that represented the flames of a campfire came to mind. While the Flame Chevron pattern does not do the flames of a campfire justice in their beauty, Watching the Campfire is the perfect shawl to wear around the campfire on camping trips or in the backyard.
