Water Bear Tardigrade Plushy
This is a PDF pattern for crocheting your very own Water Bear. The real microanimal is a whopping 0.020” long, and this one wound up being 20” and cuddly! That’s a 1000 x magnification!!
This pattern uses mostly single crochet (US terms) stitches, with just 3 rows using half double crochet stitches. There are also some FPsc (front post single crochets) to make the fancy face, and some slip stitches for the adorable claws.
Materials:
Caron One Pound in Claret
Crochet hook size H/5.00mm
Yarn needle
Stuffing
Gauge: Your gauge doesn’t really matter. You can change your yarn weight and hook size to change the size of your finished product. Just make sure the stitches aren’t too loose or you will see the stuffing! Try to keep your stitches tight!
