Watermelon PI
Watermelon PI is a smallish shawl that incorporates post stitches to provide some extra texture to the simple pattern. Instructions are included for enlarging, if desired. There are also instructions for two different looks. One with alternating bands of texture and one with all the “action” on one side of the shawl. Both are equally attractive, so choosing may be the hardest part of the whole shawl! I made one of each and I still can’t decide which I like better.
The pattern works well with long color changing yarns. It also does great with variegated yarns! Maybe you will want to go wild and change colors at each increase to make a rainbow or self gradated look. The sky is the limit!!! It is such an easy pattern that it can take the wilder color options.
I would say that the pattern is good for an adventurous beginner. If you can double crochet and work post stitches, then you have the required skill set.
