The idea behind this project was to create a large, summery picnic blanket that would be large enough for a full family or group of people to sit on and enjoy in the park, at baseball games, or wherever you enjoy spending time outdoors.

This pattern is to create a large (approximately 6’ x 6’, but will depend on your tension/gauge) watermelon picnic blanket.

Any worsted weight yarn with the right color scheme will work, I used Deborah Norville Every Day Yarn.

• Really Red (15.5 skeins // about 3100 yards)
• Electric Green (2.5 skeins // about 450 yards)
• Black (1.5 skeins // about 303 yards)
• Deborah Norville Baby in Green (1 skein // about 250 yards)
