Water’s Edge is part of the New Horizons Collection. The collection is great value for money compared with buying the individual patterns.
Water’s Edge is a top down, crescent shaped shawl with an all over lace design that seamlessly merges into a beaded lace border. Designed to be knit in a lace weight yarn (though it could be knit in almost any weight) it exudes elegance and sophistication when knit in pure silk but is light and breezy if knit in a linen/silk mix. Worked in a heavier yarn with fewer body repeats this shawl transforms into a cosy cover up whilst still being eye-catching to wear but easy to knit! Either way, Water’s Edge should not be saved for special occasions – we all need a little glamour on a daily basis – live life to the full!
FINISHED SIZE - As written 75” (190cm) wide, 21” (53.5cm) deep after blocking. Measurements taken using Lichtfaden Pure Silk Lace 400m/50g (either one of the special 800m/100g skeins or two skeins at 400m/50g) though this pattern is suitable for most laceweight yarns of around 800m/100g with the exception of alpaca based and other yarns that will not hold a block well. Note that measurements will differ depending on yarn, tension, blocking etc and these are therefore given as a guide only.
YOU WILL NEED - Stitch markers, about 975 Miyuki size 6 seed beads, 1mm crotat hook or 0.75mm crochet hook, needle (for weaving in ends), blocking pins and mats.
