This pattern has been fully tech edited and has both written and charted instructions for the ribbing, lace, and crown decreases.

Includes a link to a tutorial on how to work a yarn over between a purl and knit, and knit and purl.

Yarn
1 skein, Cascade Ecological Wool (Bulky weight; 100% Natural Peruvian Wool; 478 yards (437 meters) and 250 grams (8.82 oz). The larger size takes approximately 140 yards (128 meters) + pom pom. My pom-pom weighs 11 grams.

Needles
US8 (5mm) and US9 (5.5mm), 16 inch (40cm) circular knitting needle, as well as dpns in the larger size. Adjust needle size for correct gauge

Notions
1 stitch marker, tapestry needle, Clover 3 3/8” (85mm) Pom-Pom Maker or purchased pom-pom

Gauge
14 stitches and 24 rows over 4 inches/ 10 centimeters in Watershed Lace in the round on larger needles

To Fit
Small/Medium (Medium/Large) to accommodate an 18-21 (22 to 24) inch head circumference

Finished Measurements
17.25 (20.5) inches in circumference

The lace is exceptionally stretchy and will accommodate a variety of head sizes. If you are between sizes, choose the smaller size.

You can also mix and match, making the larger circumference with the shorter hat length, or the smaller circumference using the longer hat length as some of my test knitters did!
