I love it when I have 1 full skein of a gorgeous yarn, and my thougts start to spin around: how to make as much out of this as possible?
The Arroyo is very squishy, soft and smooth, and I wanted to take advantage of the great bounce of the yarn.
And, as winter will be here again sometime (hard to believe this very hot month of August) fingerless gloves and a hat it had to be.

The fingerless gloves
The gloves are worked seamlessly, and in-the-round from RS, from the cuff to the fingers. The left and right thumb gussets are shaped by increases. The gloves are bound off using an i-cord.
Thumbs are worked in-the-round from picked-up sts.
Sizes: there are 2 sizes to choose from. Worked at gauge the circumference of the gloves is 17.5/20.5 cm = 7.5/8”.
You will need approximately 135 m/147 yards of Arroyo to work the pair.

The hat
The hat is worked bottom-up, and in-the-round, starting from the brim in rib-pattern, followed by the lace-pattern and the crown.
The hat is one-size, with a circumference of 46 cm/18”, when slightly stretched. Fully stretched the circumference is 50 cm/20”. The pattern explaines how you can add height.
You will need approximately 125 m/136 yards of Arroyo to work the hat.

Materials
I recommend that you choose a sport weight yarn that knits up to gauge. I used Arroyo from Malabrigo to work my set.
Suggested needle size 3.5 mm/US4.

Gauge
24 sts and 34 rounds in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”.

Materials
Yarn: I recommend any sport weight yarn that knits up to gauge. I used “Arroyo” from Malabrigo in the colour-way “Reflecting Pool”, to work the set. This sport weight, merino yarn, comes in skeins of 100 gr/3.53 oz and 305 m/334 yards.Yardage: you will need approximately 135 m/147 yards of Arroyo to work the gloves, and approximately 125 m/136 yards of Arroyo to work the hat. 1 skein is sufficient for both the pair of fingerless gloves, and the hat.
Needles: Dpn’s 3.5 mm/US4 (or needle size to obtain gauge) for the fingerless gloves. A circular needle 40 cm (16”), 3 mm/US2.5 for the brim of the beanie, a circular needle 40 cm (16”), 3.5 mm/US4 for the main body of the beanie.

Gauge
24 sts and 34 rounds in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/4 x 4”,

The pattern
This is a tested pattern. I had the pleasure of working with experienced knitters, as well as fairly new knitters. The pattern seamed to work out well for all of them.
The lace-pattern for the fingerless gloves, as well as for the beanie, is charted AND written out, round-by-round.
The crown of the beanie is charted AND written out, round-by-round.
Knitting skills: easy to intermediate.
