Spiraling around your leg like a waterspout, but far less dangerous, this simple 4x4 biased rib promises hours of storm-free (okay, tantrum-free) knitting. The result? A cuff-down sock that fits even the most hard-to-fit foot, stretching and contracting as needed.

Materials:

Yarn: Fingering/sock weight colors A (463 yards) and B (80 yards) Sample knit in Flower Hill Fleeces sock set in Aquagheny with coordinating Flower Hill Fleeces mini in Blackberry.

Needles: size 00 – 2 (whatever size you need to get gauge)

Gauge: 8 stitches/inch in stockinette stitch. Always swatch socks in the round. Gauge is very important to this sock. Skip this step and your knitting ship may crash on the rocks.

Sizes:
Small/medium – 8 1/2 – 10 inches measured around the ball of the foot
Medium/large – 10 ½ -- 12 inches measured around the ball of the foot
