I designed a little swing jacket for a small person and was asked time and time again if I could work out the design for an adult version; ORCHARD ROSE – here is a version without the rose.

Worked top down with no seams. Cables always look so amazing, stocking stitch and garter stitch are always easy and when one gets into the rhythm can knit up quite quickly. The sleeves are added on after the main body is complete, as is the button band. If you would prefer to clasp the fronts together with no buttons, say with a shawl pin, omit the buttons holes, or leave to swing freely.

The aesthetic works, the design works and the knitting experience is a joy.
